Business & Economic Growth Committee - To facilitate, enhance and promote economic growth and development opportunities for retail, commercial, industrial and non-profit organizations. Its focus revolves around educating and informing members about resources, programs and opportunities available to them through various private, public, local and state agencies. Plans and produces quarterly educational programs and provides networking and sponsorship opportunities.

Cultural Diversity & Engagement Committee - To integrate our business members and develop networking opportunities for our minority, culturally or religiously diverse businesses, where they can learn more about each other, and discover new partners that will help them gain access to new business opportunities and expand their markets. This committee fosters an environment of acceptance, inclusiveness, opportunity and learning.

Education/Scholarship Committee - To strengthen partnerships between local educators and the business community in an effort to provide opportunity and mentorship to the students of Lakewood High School. Provides students real life experience in the business world and provides scholarships through our Annual Golf Outing and by other means, for promising High School Seniors.

Special Events Committee - Comprised of 3 sub committees (Awards Reception, Golf, Staff Appreciation) to assist in organizing and promoting special events throughout the year including our annual Citizen of the Year Awards Reception, Golf Outing and Staff Appreciation Day. Provides support through the solicitation of sponsorships, gift basket and raffle donations, and attendees. Volunteers time to assist with registration table and pre-event set up.

Legislative Committee
Analyze and interpret Local, County, State and national issues concerning business. Responsible for interacting with local, county, state and federal governments to gather and disseminate information that affects the interests of the Lakewood Chamber’s business community.

Marketing & Social Media Committee - To increase the Chamber’s visibility and promote the Chamber and its activities through all means of communication and media, including publications, press releases, flyers, radio, website and social media. Develop strategies, guidelines and policies for disseminating information to members. Suggest and assist in developing literature and sales aids. Provides or suggests content for e-newsletter including relevant news, events and identifies and solicits prospects for newsletter advertising. Analyze the Chamber website and social media presence and provide assistance in posting updates to our website, Facebook page, Twitter, LinkedIn and other forms of social media.

Membership Committee - To promote and market the chamber and chamber events in an effort to bolster membership growth. To assist in organizing and promoting our quarterly new member orientation meetings. Encourage member involvement and participation in Chamber events and programs. Attend events throughout the year acting as ambassadors to greet new and current Chamber members. Assist in identifying new member prospects and provide support through the solicitation and recruitment of those prospects. Aid in identifying, contacting and engaging inactive members. Collaborate on retention methods and assist in efforts to retain members. Solicit members for feedback on their experience and encourage suggestions for improving membership value. Deliver new member plaques when necessary.

Programs Committee - To assist in organizing and promoting programs throughout the year including Business After Hours, quarterly General Membership meetings and other programs. Provides support by recommending and/or locating guest speakers, sponsors and venues for Business After Hours, quarterly General Membership meetings and other programs. Suggests and/or recommends ideas for new programs and events. Volunteers time to assist with registration table and pre-event set up.

Young Business Leaders Committee - To foster participation of career minded young professionals by increasing their opportunities through forums for networking, continuing education, professional growth, development of leadership skills and access to senior level professionals. Open to younger businessmen and women between the ages of 21 and 40 to meet and discuss ways in which they can interact with other members of the Chamber and the business community, in addition to sharing their talents and expertise with more established businesses. Responsible for planning and implementing specific networking and educational events, that are geared towards their group. Assist in identifying and recruiting other young business leaders as candidates for Chamber membership, and committee membership.
